The University of Woodland was a little-known but almost autonomous institute of research and higher-order activities, based in 93 Woodland Road with subsequent expansion into 95.

Apart from the academic stuff, it specialised in coffee, ploys of various types, and physical activities such as golf (electronic and real), football (against real opponents or household objects), stock market speculation and music (for a thankfully brief period). Oh, and Christmas celebrations - a tradition started by Bob with a turkey and a microwave, and carried on to this day in somewhat more sophisticated fashion by Martin.

Not forgetting sweepstakes on all major international football tournaments. Oh, and never, ever answering the door on Friday morning. .
