Research Highlights

  • An EPSRC funded research project by John Hogan of the Applied Nonlinear Mathematics Group has considered simple models for the nonlinear behaviour of suspension bridges. See a mirror site for the Tacoma Narrows bridge disaster .
  • The programming language FRIL. An uncertanty logic programming language which also allows probabilistic uncertainties and fuzzy sets to be included. Developed by members of the Artificial Intellegence Research Group, and put to numerous applications.
  • The Test and Learn Project. A system for delivering multiple choice tests over the network. Developed by the Eng Maths Department and School of Chemistry
