7. How to obtain a key and instructions on how to find the cottage
You can travel to the cottage by train. Take the train to Bere Alston
and then either walk down the hill to the cottage (2 miles) or take a
taxi: John's Taxi 01822-841 884 or 07805 693314.
Alternatively take the train to Calstock and then you are about 15
minutes walk from the cottage; the only trouble is the river Tamar -
there is a ferry
across at high tide +/-2 hours. To get to the ferry from the station
you just follow the roads that go down to the river - allow 15 minutes.
One advantage of going to Calstck is that if, due to the railways
fault, you miss the connection out to Bere Alston from Plymouth and
there is not another train; then if you ask at the station they will
normally be happy to pay for a taxi and the taxi driver willl prefer to
take you to the cottage than to Calstock
